Privacy Policy

Effective September 5, 2026. Applies to the Family Mortgage Shield website and coverage questionnaire.

Family Mortgage Shield ("we," "us") is an independent insurance marketing service. This policy explains what we collect when you use this site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

When you complete the coverage questionnaire we collect the answers you give us:

Age bracket
Approximate remaining mortgage balance and monthly mortgage payment
The amount of coverage you said you would want
Tobacco use in the last 12 months
Zip code, and the state we derive from it
First and last name
Who you would want a policy to pay out to
Email address and mobile phone number

We also collect technical information automatically: your IP address, browser and device type (user agent), the date and time of your visit, the page you arrived on, the referring site, and advertising identifiers such as UTM parameters, the Facebook click identifier (fbclid) and Facebook browser cookies (_fbp and _fbc) when present.

2. The consent record

When you check the consent box and click "Request My Coverage Review," we store a consent record with your lead. It contains your IP address, your user agent, a timestamp, the page address, the exact wording of the consent statement you agreed to, and the version number of that wording. We keep this record so we can prove, if asked, what you agreed to and when.

3. How we use your information

To calculate the illustrative coverage target shown on your plan page
To connect you with a licensed insurance agent for your Free Coverage Eligibility Review
To contact you by phone, text message and email about insurance products, as described in the consent statement
To measure and improve our advertising, including sending hashed identifiers to advertising platforms so they can match conversions to ads
To keep records required by law and to prevent fraud and abuse

4. Who we share it with

We share your information with our licensed insurance and marketing partners, including Pinnacle Life Group and its agents, so that they can contact you and conduct your review. We share it with service providers who store data, deliver messages and host this site on our behalf. We share hashed (not readable) identifiers with advertising platforms such as Meta for conversion measurement. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some sharing for advertising purposes may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state laws. You can opt out on our Do Not Sell My Info page.

5. Cookies and tracking

This site may use the Meta pixel and first party cookies to measure advertising. We store your first touch details (landing page, referrer, UTM parameters and click identifiers) in your browser's session storage for the length of your visit so that they can be attached to your lead. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the questionnaire still works without them.

6. How long we keep it

We keep leads and consent records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal and record keeping obligations. Consent records are retained for a minimum of five years from the date of consent.

7. Your choices and rights

Stop calls and texts. Reply STOP to any text message, or tell the agent who contacts you.
Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email us with the subject line "Privacy Request."
Opt out of sale or sharing. See our Do Not Sell My Info page.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

8. Children

This site is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Security

Your information is sent over an encrypted connection and stored with access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top tells you when it last changed.
